There are rumors that Samsung will announce a pair of Galaxy AR Glasses at Unpacked 2025. According to the report, these “resemble conventional eyewear weighing approximately 50 grams.” Samsung aims to compete with Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, which currently dominate this market segment.
The only other aspect of the report is that Qualcomm will supply the processor, and Google will be responsible for the development. This comes as little surprise given that the Galaxy AR Glasses are said to rely on the AI capabilities of Google Gemini.
Currently, Meta dominates the smart glasses market. However, it is expected to see intensified competition in 2025 as companies such as Apple, Huawei, and Xiaomi plan to enter the market.
The Unpacked event is poised to take place on January 22, 2025.
