Peeka, the mobile platform that brings to life children’s books via virtual reality announced it has entered into a partnership with T-Mobile that will let more than 10,000 of T-Mobile families have access to the Peeka library of VR storybooks. All of this is going to be part of an employee engagement program called Magenta Kids, the company revealed in a press release.

As part of the deal, all families who are part of the T-Mobile Magenta Kids program are eligible to get one Peeka x T-Mobile kit for every child in their home. The kit includes a special Peeka x T-Mobile cardboard VR headset as well as a code among other things. The code can be redeemed for 150 tokens that users can spend on the Peeka mobile app for either buying or renting the immersive story experiences in virtual reality that Peeka has to offer. Plus, Peeka also underscored the potential to create new VR content with T-Mobile in the education domain which can be specially formulated to stoke curiosity among young minds.

Peeka also said the timing of the partnership couldn’t have been better considering that the use of technology in education has never been this extensive any time before. This has also been reflected in the Project Tomorrow research survey which revealed that 75 percent of parents and 71 percent of teachers feel technology is extremely crucial for imparting education in a post-pandemic scenario. Peeka hopes to have a head-start in this segment, something that is expected to receive a further boost thanks to its partnership with T-Mobile’s supercharged 5G network.

“We’re excited to share Peeka with T-Mobile’s Magenta Kids families, who will be able to immerse the whole family in virtual reality storybooks, and in the process, help engage and motivate young readers with more imagination, immersion, and interactivity,” said Peeka CEO Michael Wong

“T-Mobile is excited to bring Peeka’s innovative technology to our Magenta Kids families through this partnership,” said Amanda Todd, Sr. Director, Advanced and Emerging Technologies at T-Mobile.”When I discovered Peeka and what they are doing to motivate children’s love of reading, I knew it would be a great fit for Magenta Kids.”

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in the world of technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles as well, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. Motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot and maybe I’ll make a film sometime in the future.
