Nreal Air AR glasses finally launched in the US but with some changes introduced

The Nreal Air AR glasses that you have only heard of so far are finally a reality now. As ReviewWeek stated, the Nreal Air AR glasses are now available in the US where it is priced at $379 for AR glasses while the Nreal Air Adapter sold separately is priced at $59. This comes months after the AR glasses first went on sale in several Asian countries last year.

However, the Nreal Air AR glasses that have been launched in the US are a bit different from the version sold in Asian countries. For instance, there is no outward-facing camera on the models sold in the US. The cameras serve the purpose of tracking physical motion and with that missing, the glasses will only be able to track user rotation. Another notable change with the US-specific model is that it will have twice as much battery life as the model sold in Asia.

Almost everything else remains the same, including the outlook which resembles an oversized sunglass. The basic functioning also remains the same so that you will still be able to catch up with streaming services such as Netflix and YouTube. Nreal said the AR glasses are different from the VR glasses in that you will still be able to see all that is around you while still keeping an eye on the content being streamed. The company said the glasses will allow for the feel of watching a ten foot screen from a distance of 20 feet. Another nice feature of the Nreal AR glasses is that it is also able to stream games via GeForce and Xbox Cloud services.

Further, while we have known the Air AR glasses to be compatible with only Android, the company is now claiming support for iOS as well. This might require more clarification as the Nreal compatibility page does not mention the Apple iPhone among the devices it supports. Amazon too has mentioned a special dongle that users will need for using the device with ‘Apple devices with lightning and Nintendo Switch.’

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in the world of technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles as well, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. Motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot and maybe I’ll make a film sometime in the future.
